What is your company worth?

Independent valuation with the answer up front and the documentation behind it – so you can stand behind the number with buyers, investors, co-owners and advisors.

More than 200 valuations and many other M&A-related engagements since 2016 – for startups, small, mid-sized and large companies in Denmark and abroad, as well as investment companies.

When the value has to support a decision

A valuation has a purpose, and someone will question it. It usually starts with one of these questions.

Is the offer I received fair?
An independent valuation shows what the company is worth and what the offer is based on. It gives you an objective starting point for the negotiation.
What could I get for the company in a few years?
Know the value today and find the issues that hold it back while there is still time to address them. Read about exit readiness
What valuation should we present to investors?
Investors expect a valuation that is consistent with the business plan and can withstand scrutiny.
What should the next generation pay?
In a succession or change of ownership, the value must be documented and explainable to all parties.
What is a departing co-owner’s share worth?
When an owner exits or owners disagree, everyone needs a value backed by an independent party.
What should we offer for the company we want to buy?

Three services, one focus: value

Capitum helps you establish, explain and improve the value of a company – before, during and alongside a transaction.

  • Exit readiness

A systematic review against a fixed checklist that shows where the company should be strengthened before a buyer examines it.

  • Capital and transactions

Independent support for capital raising, acquisitions and sales: second opinions, valuation of acquisition targets, investor materials and financial models. Capitum does not run the sale process itself.

Independence and discretion

No fee depends on the outcome

Capitum receives neither success fees nor fees that depend on the value. That leaves only one consideration in a valuation: getting the number right.

Nothing goes further

Names, figures and assessments stay with Capitum. Discretion and confidentiality have been the guiding principles since the start in 2016 – and always will be. You decide who gets access to the material Capitum prepares, and nothing is passed on to anyone but you unless you want it to be.

Built for those who need to use the number

The report is structured around what you and your counterparties need: the answer first, then the documentation.

  1. Cover

    Disclaimer

The report’s disclaimer is clearly stated from the start.

  2. Page 2

    The conclusion

Value, value range and method. What you need is up front – you don’t have to look for it.

  3. Appendices

    Assumptions and material received

All assumptions applied and a list of the material the conclusion is based on. If the number is challenged, it can be verified.

  4. Finally

    The valuation calculations

The detailed calculations behind the number. Typically two methods are applied and cross-checked.

Fast delivery

Once the material is received, the report is typically delivered within a week. The deadline is agreed at the outset.

Price agreed before work starts

You receive a fee estimate no later than the day after the first call, and the price is agreed before work begins.

Danish or English

You choose the language of the report. English is relevant when there are foreign shareholders or the valuation is to be presented to a foreign buyer or investor.

How it works

Minimal disruption for you. Most of the work can be handled by phone, email and online.

  1. A short call

A short call by phone or online clarifies what the valuation is for and when you need it. No obligation and in confidence.

  2. Fee estimate and list of material

By the next day you receive a fee estimate and a list of the material needed. It is not essential that everything can be provided.

  3. Analysis and calculation

The company, its industry and its market are analyzed, and the value is calculated. Apart from a few clarifications, you can focus on your business.

  4. The report

You receive the report with the conclusion up front. If you would like a walkthrough, it can be done by phone, online or in person.

For lawyers and other advisors

Does your client need an independent valuation?

Law firms, financial institutions and other advisors use Capitum when a client needs an independent valuation – in changes of ownership, shareholder agreements, disputes and transactions.

The report is built so that every assumption can be verified, and it can be used directly in the case. The engagement can be carried out directly for the client or through you.

Morten Christensen, Capitum

Experience from both sides of the table

Capitum is run by Morten Christensen, who holds a Danish cand.merc. (MSc in Economics and Business Administration) in management accounting and an MBA specializing in business valuation. He has been independent in M&A since 2016, and as finance manager, head of finance and CFO he was responsible for the numbers others had to evaluate.

You get an advisor who knows the methods and knows what it takes for a company to provide the material.
